Up for auction is an oldie but goodie, 1948 "The Martin" Tenor Saxophone. Serial #166253.
Fresh overhaul with kangaroo tan pads and flat metal resonators.
This sax comes with the original case and mouthpiece.
I've been playing sax for 20 years now and I have to say that this is
one of the sweetest sounding tenors I've ever played. There's only one small ding under the key guard post for the low Eb key. The bow, bell, and
body are straight true! Original lacquer is most like 90% intact. The
engraving is still sharp.There is minor wear on palm keys. Has an
adjustable thumb hook and a neat tightening mechanism on neck tenon.
