Vintage Martin Guitar

Up for bid is a POLY GAS electric gas pump made by Martin & Swartz. The inner pump has been removed. Everything is original on this pump with the exception of a few of the screws; it is a very complete pump. It comes with a new hose; the nozzle may be from a bit later pump (according to one source). The globe on top is a reproduction and has been wired to light up with a cord and switch on the side. It has the original face plates and original spinner bulbs. The body of this pump was VERY ROUGH; the restoration is definitely not a perfect one (see the wrinkles along the top of the pump); the paint coverage is good, but there are several paint runs and rough spots in the paint job, as can be seen in the pictures. All in all the color scheme makes this a very attractive pump. This pump dates from about the 1950's. It stands about 6 feet tall with the globe on top. PLEASE LOOK AT OUR OTHER PUMPS, AS WE HAVE SEVERAL OTHER VISIBLE & ELECTRIC PUMPS ON EBAY AT THIS TIME AS WELL! AND WE WILL BE RUNNING SOME OTHERS OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS.

This gas pump belongs to Mr. Kenneth Boyd of Roosevelt, Oklahoma, and he is the one who found and restored it. Mr. Boyd is 80 years old and has lived all of his life on the farm that has been in his family for over 100 years. He has been restoring petroleum products for several years now, having restored approximately 200 gravity flow and electric pumps to date (among other restoration projects). This pump is quite heavy, weighing about 350 lbs crated. It will either need to be picked up here in Oklahoma or be shipped by commercial "freight." There is a $150.00 charge for bolting the pump to a shipping pallet and wrapping it in heavy cardboard and cellophane if you choose to have the pump shipped to you. Mr. Boyd will be happy to arrange for a freight company to transport and deliver this item to the address you provide (all, understandably, at your expense); the address will have to be that of a business (your business or someone you know), for the freight company does not deliver to residential addresses. Feel free to call Mr. Boyd at 580-639-2776 and he can secure for you the shipping expenses.  

The "Buyer" is responsible for all packing, transportation and delivery fees from Roosevelt, OK, 73564. It is also to be understood that the buyer assumes all liability associated with freighting (breakage of the glass globe, damage to the skins, etc.). [Though packed well for shipment, out of about 100 pumps shipped by freight thus far, only five have received damage, but it can happen, and--we want it to be clear--the buyer assumes the liablity for damage sustained in shipment.]
