MARTIN (USA) TENOR SAX
This is quite a find! A high quality instrument in very good condition that produces a beautiful sound.
Serial number 57703 makes it a 1956 model and it was owned by the same musician in the US from 1968 to 2008.
The horn has a pink sheen to it which has to do with the amount of copper Martins put into the brass.
The Indiana was marketed as a student/intermediate model but some professionals preferred the Indiana to the flagship 'The Martin' tenor. Many players can't tell the difference! The sound is big, robust and clear.
Solid construction with rolled tone holes. It has been refurbished, with new pads, springs, corks and lubrication. Action is fine, nothing loose or sloppy, the pearls are near perfect and the lacquer looks new in places but there are small dents and scratches, which are to be expected with a 50 year old horn.
