THE JAZZMAN'S HORNS PLAY, DON'T BUY A NEEDY SAX THAT WILL COST YOU HUNDREDS 0F DOLLARS TO MAKE IT PLAYABLE. DON'T GAMBLE
FIRST, please understand what you're bidding on. This Alto Saxophone is a MARTIN "HANDCRAFT" Phase lll which was built for professional musicians to deliver that wonderful Martin sound. This is an excellent sax for a pro musician or a gifted student. That's why it's The "Real Deal," because this is a "Handcraft" Phase lll alto that was originally used by the great "Big Band" musicians. These saxophones were among the more highly developed of the "HANDCRAFT" saxes. They were the powerhouse horns of the Dance Band era. This is one of the rarer Martins of the Vintage Martin "HANDCRAFT" alto Saxophones. It is a model that is very desired, because of its rich full tone and excellent intonation, by solo jazz and symphonic players. It is a 1926, "Martin" phase lll "Handcraft" alto sax, serial # 89142. The phase lll is a low pitch sax (that's the one you want). The neck and body of the sax have matching serial numbers. The sax also has 98% of its original silver plating, and silver plated keys, and no dings or dents. The saxophone was handcrafted by old world masters in Elkhardt, Indiana. This beauty has; bevelled and soldered tone holes, The low B and B flat bell keys are on the opposing sides of the bell, a highly desired custom Front F key, a C# adjuster, its original untouched Martin Engraving, its original factory end plug, and the famous, untouched msartin engraving. Additionally, the markings on the bell read "MARTINHANDCRAFT/ ELKHARDT IND/ USA." The pads are very good, and brand new neck corks, and the instrument plays beautifully. This alto comes with its' original good condition martin case. I asked one of my customers, a well known NYC Studio and Broadway musical Pit Band player to try the horn. Stan Auld reports "This is a great piece, she whispers, talks, and screams...a real saxophone ..." Now for the great part. This saxophone was prepared by RUSS ACKERMAN. Russ has been named in the SAX GOURMET newsletter as one of the top 10 saxophone technicians in the USA (see the "great one" at work in photo 1). Remember, all USA buyers will receive a low $19.99 shipping charged, and a full money back guarantee. International buyers will receive a 10% discount on their shipping fee, and no one pays a handling charge. A U.S. buyer who uses the "Buy It Now" option will receive FREE SHIPPING and a Mouthpiece set. International buyer who choose the "Buy It Now" option will receive a 20% discount on their International shipping fees. This is an opportunity to own a fine Vintage Big Band Martin alto Sax at a reasonable price. This one is worth fighting for, don't let it get away!
NOTE: As all saxophonists know, their horns are very sensitive instruments. I have a shop with 3 techs and all of my instruments are carefully tested, played, and very carefully packed prior to shipping. However, once in a while, due to handling during the shipping process, a sax may need a slight adjustment after arrival. If so, you should have a favorite tech who in most cases will not even charge to make a necessary minor adjustment. Sorry, because of extra handling during the shipping and Customs process, I can't offer a return on International sales. However, I ship in new boxes with lots of insulation to protect the horns from shipping trauma and I have not had a problem in over 275 International sales.
REMEMBER, THE JAZZMAN'S HORNS PLAY, GUARANTEED!
