Appraised at $1500.00
Serial #: 112331
This Eb Alto Saxophone is a very hard to find Martin Handcraft Imperial model. They were made for a very short time. Do not confuse this with the Imperial model made in the late 50s and early 60s. This was a top model pro-line horn in the early 1930s. Martin went through a lot of different models in the 1930s. This was their first model that put the bell keys on the same side of the bell. This model features: Forked Eb (note vent below the D key on the lower stack...unusual), thick soldered tone holes, solid nickel key work, and that huge lush Martin tone. Qualkity mouthpiece with neoprene ligature & plastic cap is included. Serial number 112331 dates this one to 1935ish. Original lacquer is around 80-85 %. The body is in great condition with no dents, dings or repairs. Matching serial number on the neck. This one has been reconditioned with new springs, a fresh set of pads, cork, and is in great playing condition. Original alligator case shows some wear, but still in good condition. This is a fantastic player.
