Vintage Martin Guitar

Here we have a 1989
Martin D-16M serial number 488440. This guitar should not be confused with the current cheaper
D16 that is being issued by Martin. This D16 was only made for a few
years in the late 80's early 90's and has that magic Martin tone and
playability that its more expensive cousins from that time period
have (such as the D-18 models). The guitar has a great vintage look; the top
has developed a nice patina to it.

This guitar has not left my side for the last 15
years. It plays and sounds great, but it does have some damage to the
body from being dropped (there’s a
noticeable crack along the bottom). It also has some light cracks in the clear
coat like many vintage Martins.  This damage does not affect the tone or playability
and because of this I am bargain pricing this instrument. I have never had the
guitar refretted so it definitely does show fret wear yet it still plays superb.
If you get it fully serviced though, you can always have the frets leveled and crowned at some point but I would not hot hesitate to play a gig with it as is,
and I have done so.

If you are ultra picky,
you can definitely find a Martin in better shape than this but chances are it
will not play or sound any better.  The
guitar includes its original hard shell case and has a free decorative guitar
strap thrown in. Feel free to ask any questions. International bids are also
