Beautiful 1978 Alvarez Yairi acoustic guitar made in Japan. This is one of the "lawsuit" Martin D-28 style models made by K. Yairi in the 1970s. Solid spruce top with mahogany back and sides, bone nut, new compensated bone saddle, original Grover bulls-eye tuners, new strings, professionally inspected and set-up. This model came stock with a built-in under saddle pickup and plug-in style end pin. This is an exceptionally clean guitar with no cracks, and with only a few very small dings or scratches (not visible in any of the photographs). There are no buckle marks on the back of the guitar. The neck angle is good and the guitar does not require a neck set. String height is very comfortable and set to medium-low action. There is very minor fretboard wear in the first three fret positions, but no pitting, and the frets are in good condition with very minor wear.
These are consistently great guitars that competed well against Martin guitars made during the same era. This guitar is no exception and has the warm, rich tone that one should expect from a vintage acoustic instrument. The guitar plays very well, has correct intonation, and stays in tune.
This really is a wonderful acoustic guitar that is set up and ready to play. Comes with a hard shell case in good condition.
