Vintage Martin Guitar

Up for auction is my 1976 Martin D12-35. I had always wanted one of these 12-Fret Martin Slot-Heads and five years ago I got an opportunity to acquire this one so I jumped on it (the opportunity, that is). It was, and is, in very good condition but, as many 29 year old Martins (at the time) can be, in need of a neck reset. I sent it to 70's Martin “wizard” Bryan Kimsey and he performed his magic on it. Now it has a perfect neck set (with full bone set-up including the nut and a compensated saddle with individual compensation for each of the 12 strings), a smaller Maple bridge plate, and bone bridge pins. It plays and sounds amazing. When I started playing out more, I added the D-TAR Load 'N Lock Wave-Length system which sounds great. With the soundhole accessible controls, I can dial in the sound I want every time, and when it comes time to change the batteries, it's a snap, with no need to loosen the strings.

The guitar has some finish checking, a few dings, and, of course the repaired pickguard crack common to Martins from that era (although you'd be hard pressed to find it) but hey, it's 34 years old. The guitar will come to you in a newer form fitting Martin Geib-Style case with two handles. The original handle broke so I had a custom all leather one made for it but I also attached an OEM handle so the new owner will have a choice as to which one he or she wants to use.
