HERE IS WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON TODAY!
Vintage 1948 The Martin Committee Tenor Saxophone
Sax
ORIG CERT & LETTER, PLAYS GREAT, SEE
VIDEO
Here is a very nice Martin
The Martin tenor #166xxx, some consider it to be one of the
best models from Martin, along with the Magna tenor. It
looks to be a relacquer from the lacquer over the key touches
and upon close inspection there are some lacquer drips around
the back of the body tube, otherwise the engravings look crisp
and clean, there is some sign of some past ding removal here
and there, but overall the sax looks and plays great. We had
our NAPBIRT tech go over the sax and it was just serviced and
cleaned. Comes in an older vintage case, with original letter
from Martin and certificate from purchase, and original end
plug. Neck is original with the matching serial numbers.
Enjoy this beautiful sax, super rich tone, dark but still
rich.

We ship anywhere in the US, Canada,
and Worldwide with
SHIPPING COSTS: We use the eBay Calculator to
estimate shipping costs, it is an estimate, not usually the
actual cost. Plus they do not allow allowance for insurance,
which generally costs $1.00 per every hundred dollars
spent. Since we use all new materials when we ship, and
we ship in oversize boxes to help protect the instruments, our
shipping costs may seem higher than other sellers. If the
actual shipping cost of the item is less than what you are
charged, we will refund the difference, if it is more we will
not charge you the difference. Our shipping procedure may seem
like it will cost you more overall, but it really could
save you money in adjustments once the instrument
arrives. Of the 400+ instruments we shipped in 2009, we only
had two claims for damage.
Although International Priority and
International Express Mail say your delivery will be there
within 5-7 days, we cannot guarantee it's arrival date. If you
wish to use a different service, please contact us for a price
quote, or use the options at checkout. We try to charge the
exact cost for shipping, unless we need to take extra care in
packaging. We use all brand new boxes and packing materials to
ship each saxophone, which is why there is an additional $6.00
handling charge for shipping on saxophones or larger
instruments. (our actual cost of these of materials is
$18.00-$22.00). Using brand new boxes and packing materials
helps prevent any potential damage during shipping, and along
with purchasing insurance is the best guarantee to ensure your
purchase arrives safely.
We require that ALL Musical Instrument
Shipped Domestic and International have insurance purchased
for the purchased value. We pack and ship each instrument with
care, but cannot be responsible what happens to it once
it leaves our address. Unfortunately, some carriers don't care
whats inside the box,and treat it accordingly.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: We are not responsible to
cover any fees associated with importing this instrument to
your country. Please check with your own laws for importing
information and taxes.
Also, it is recommended that anyone that
purchases a saxophone and then has it shipped; get it adjusted
and checked over at your local music
store. Many times minor adjustments can be made by
even yourself with little effort.
We have heard of many instances where a buyer has
purchased a major brand saxophone like a Selmer
Reference 54 for over $4,500 and when it arrived it didn't
even play. We only mention this to help bring
awareness to anybody looking to purchase a saxophone. If
it arrives and has some issues playing. please do not jump to
conclusions and assume the sax is defective or the dealer
misled you.
