For your consideration is this early 1939
Martin OO-18 serial number 72271 in beautiful all original condition. Fantastic
example of a very desirable model and year from the best possible manufacturer
of the acoustic guitars in the world, Martin. All original no issue guitar, no
modifications or repairs. We see only two unaddressed small damage areas, the
first looks like a 2” very fine drying crack on the face edge lower bout where
your arm goes over and an impact fracture back edge treble side culminating in
a 2” back crack and some fracturing on that same edge (pictured). Neither of
these minor issues has been repaired just as we like it. We do recommend
allowing your professional luthier to address these simple cracks and initiate
repair. The action is typical of Martin, 3/16” at the 12th fret bass
side, 1/8” at the 12th fret treble side. The neck is straight the
original frets have plenty of life. The original ebony bridge (pre war 18’s
gets ebony bridge and fingerboard) has not been sanded or filed, the original
saddle has not been cut down but grooves for the strings have been cut. The
original finish does reflect normal usage wear, mostly confined to benign
pressure marks and superficial scratching, as well as some flat pick wear
around the original pick guard (pictured). Fantastic example of a Martin guitar
built when most consider the company to be making its finest steel string
instruments ever. 1930’s Martin steel strings guitars are very desirable for
this reason and this is a great example of one from that era. Original case is
long gone, the instrument however has a good fitting newer aftermarket case for
protection and of course it’s included.

a competent professional be allowed to address the instrument and implement any
work you determine it may need. We feel this allows the buyer to set up the
instrument to their liking and achieve its maximum potential.

Shipping Policy

Flat rate quotes domestic and international are
not subject to discount. We ship all domestic USPS Priority Mail, all
international USPS Express Mail, no exceptions. We do not combine shipping as
rates are weight sensitive. Please contact us regarding any questions you may have
otherwise we charge published flat rate quote.
