You are bidding on a Vintage 1938 Martin Handcraft Committee 2 Tenor Sax Saxophone. I have lots of photos below, so be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this page to take a better look. This amazing vintage Martin Handcraft Committee “2” tenor saxophone dates, according to the serial number charts I’ve found, to around 1938, with the neck and body having matching serial numbers. The back of the sax is clearly marked “Comm 2”, and the horn is truly a magnificent instrument. Measuring approximately 29 ½” long from the top of the body to the bottom (with the neck off) the horn is in great overall condition, with only one very, very light, very , very minor dent/ding that I can find. The only real issue I see is that the small metal key trigger post that comes up from the key assembly on the body and contacts the “loop” on the neck has busted off. I still have the piece, and it’s included with the saxophone. It looks like someone had glued the piece at one point and it had come off, but I’m guessing this is a very minor repair for a horn shop, especially with the original piece, which as I said, is included. The horn otherwise shows plenty of typical finish wear, but is still a phenomenal piece, and would make a great addition to any collection of fine horns. Please see my photos below to have a look at this nice item.

Due to the large amount of items I now auction, I can unfortunately no longer allow in person pick up of items, but if you win an auction on a large or heavy item, and you are in California, please contact me about reduced shipping costs.
If you are the high bidder on one of my auctions, I will email you within three hours of the auctions closing telling you the total amount of your purchase, including shipping and insurance, along with payment details.
CANADIAN BIDDERS: I now ship only USPS Air to Canada, so if you bid on an item, you must be willing to pay the actual cost of USPS air shipping.
FOREIGN BIDDERS: If I am allowing foreign bidding on this item, it is your responsibility to be aware of any import or customs fees your country may apply to your incoming packages. Since I do not accept Paypal, I can unfortunately no longer accept bids from the UK or Australia. If you’re in the UK or Australia, or one of the countries that’s being “screened” out by my not accepting Paypal, and you have interest in one of my items, please email and I’ll see what can be worked out.
Also, to all prospective bidders, please do not email me asking me to close one of my auctions early; as a matter of policy, I always let my auctions run to completion so everyone has a fair chance to bid.
