Vintage Martin Handcrafted The New Master TrumpetThis trumpet has the Martin Handcrafted The New Master scrolling on the bell along with the words Elkhart, Indiana. On the second valve, the serial #94955 is on it with a 2 under it. There is NO mouthpiece and NO case. All the parts move easily EXCEPT for the slide that is not in the picture off the horn, this slide is stuck. Also, the finger rest and one of the spit value is missing. Someone tried to solder the finger rest (not a professional job). I was able to blow this trumpet when I put my finger over the missing spit valve. Even with the leak it plays nicely on the first and second valves. The third valve is a little rough but this trumpet has a lot of potential. This horn is 2-tone in color, gold and silver or perhaps the silver is nickel plated. There are a few minor dents and scratches from use. Some of the pictures show the dents that I have found. Many Martin horns were custom built for people and this one may have been. I had an Imperial Martin but this one sound a lot more mellow and was not two tone. This Handcraft Martin The New Master was before the Imperial Martin Committee was introduced. The serial number dates this instrument to 1929 0r 1930, and would be a fine addition for a collector.
