Pre 1930's C.F. Martin Ukulele. Excellent condition. This is a Style 1K soprano ukulele made of Koa wood. Normal wear with some light superficial scratches and a very small area on the back along one edge where there's some light wear to the finish.(Please see photos) Finish on the headstock is flaking slightly. No cracks, splits, or any damage. Custom made case appears to be newer.
What we have been told by several experts: very unique and interesting, probably made between 1924 and 1926, unusual mother-of-pearl inlays on headstock and fretboard almost certainly added after purchase which makes it one-of-a-kind.
What we know: Family owned heirloom originally purchased by grandfather who played this ukulele in his own Kentucky Bluegrass band. He carried it around in a "rabbit feed" sack (included) until the case was made. For the past 40 years the instrument has been sealed and stored, and is now ready for you to play and enjoy.
