Vintage Martin Guitar

This guitar is in spectacular condition, owned by one family.

No cracks or repairs anywhere. At one point, the bridge was re-glued (see picture) and the saddle was compensated for intonation.
There is no other work done to this guitar. Every part of the guitar is original, including finish, tuners, bridge pins, nut, and frets.
The frets themselves have no discernible wear whatsoever and the tuners work beautifully.

Right now, the guitar is set up with down-tuned steel strings and plays well. The sound is amazingly resonant.

The neck angle should be reset for optimal playability.
The Martin factory has estimated this procedure the cost at $400.
The fingerboard itself is perfectly straight with possibly only some fret-mill needed after a neck-set lowers the action.
The guitar should be set up with silken steel or gut strings.

Martin customer service estimated the age at c. 1875,  model was found to be the two and a half size, woods are ebony spruce and flawlessly book matched Brazilian rosewood. Stamps on neck block spine and back read C.F. Martin & co New York. There's some wear to the finish where the guitar was held (see pictures). Minimal scratches/dings; much less than expected given the age of the guitar; small chip where the fingerboard meets the sound hole(pictured).

All in all, an absolutely beautiful piece of craftsmanship and a prime demonstration of the work done by a master craftsman.

Will be shipped in a non-original, dreadnought sized hard-case.
