Vintage Martin Guitar

Up for auction is a Martin O-16NY model year 1972 serial # 314xxx .  It has a rosewood bridge, fretboard and head stock front. Original tuners, mahogany sides, back and neck.  Sounds absolutely wonderful, for a smaller guitar.  The action is medium but is a good player.  Most older Martins usually need a neck reset.  I will leave that up to the new owner to decide, but I feel the guitar plays fine.  It will come with a solid condition chipboard case just for shipping. The binding and frets are in excellent original condition. There are no loose braces and it has it's original finish with no cracks or repairs to the top or neck but there is what appears to be a repair of about 3 inch separation between the lower side and back that ran across the edge of the guitar and a 1.5 inch hairline back crack with superglue that ran down the back of the body which you can see in the photos and looks slightly messy. The glue ran down about 8 inches longer than needed ( the crack is 1.5" long ). This was already present when I purchase the guitar many years ago. It is stable and just needs to be cleaned up which I will leave up to the new owner to decide. Other than that the rest of the guitar and original finish is untouched and very nice. The width at the nut is 1-15/16ths almost 2 inches wide and very desirable to fingerpickers. Overall a nice example of a slotted headstock steel string Martin.
