Vintage Martin Guitar

Up for auction is a super nice and clean (cosmetically
better than average 8.5/10) vintage 1970 Martin D 18, serial number 264XXX. This
40 year old beauty sounds fantastic with a boomy bass and pronounced high
range. The sound is very rich and powerful and projects nicely. The action is
3/32 on the bass side. It plays very easily and is very responsive.

The guitar had a neck reset and fret job performed by a
skilled and experienced luthier at Maple Street Guitars in Atlanta, Georgia about
6 weeks ago. As with all older Martins, after 25-30 years the neck angle must
be adjusted after the guitar settles.  This is not a cheap service to have completed. The total was over $500.00 . Also added was a bone saddle to match the bone
nut. I also have a Tusq saddle included that is slightly lower for the summer
months.

The luthier gave it a solid bill of health and also
commented on what great condition it is in to be 40 years old. No previous
repairs were found and no structural issues were detected. Normal careful
playing marks and some worming on the underside where the guitar rests on your
leg are present. The worming is not through the finish. It ships in an
older Martin plastic hard shell case.

I have the fever for a new Taylor right now and am selling
this to finance the deal. This is a great opportunity to get your hands on a 40 year old Martin.
