This guitar has been in the family for generations.  It belonged to my great grandfather.  I don't have much information of the history of this guitar through out the years.  The pictures give you as much information as I have.  I was just a baby when this guitar was being played.  I am playing it now and It sounds nice.   I basically kept it because is was a family heirloom but I am the last musician alive and it's just gathering dust.  If I had a kid to pass it down to I might have kept it.   I do see a 6 inch short coming on the front of the sound board.  it doesn't look like a crack.  I define a crack as a defect resulting from injury to the guitar.  This looks more like a defect resulting from age.  It looks like pressure from the strings, or perhaps just plain old age cause the grain of the sound board to split a little.  I do know that this shortcoming has existed for the last 10 years and it has been played without incident.  I think despite of the shortcoming, the structural integrity is still sound.  I don't know what the discoloration is.  Perhaps there was a previous attempt to repair.  The sound board isn't flat.  You can run your fingers over the discoloration and feel like it was sanded down, filled in, and sanded again.  It might have been repaired.  I went the to Martin website to date the guitar.  From the serial number 72919 I can see that this guitar was made in 1939.

please contact me for any questions.

I haven't pack the guitar yet.  For U.S.  I am just guessing 50 buck flat rate shipping.. That should cover any costs.  For International, I am guessing a 16 lb priority box.    My estimates for shipping may be a bit high but I gave it my best to ensure I have full coverage for shipping.  Please consider the shipping cost in the bidding price.  It actually shipping cost and my estimate differ, I will just keep the difference and use it towards the insurance of the item during transit.

Because this is a high dollar item, reserve the right to terminate any transaction that does not meet the requirements for seller protection.
As one of the many examples,  we will not ship to an unverified address.
