Vintage Martin Guitar

2009 Merrill 0-18, Classic Martin austerity, elegance and simplicity, just like an original 1930 12-fret 0-18. Beautiful tonewood selections of Adirondack spruce and mahogany with tortoise shell bindings. It has a warm and sparkling tone with a big bass that speaks out with authority. The long scale really gives it some oomph far beyond it's size. Sounds like a 000- sized guitar, does not sound small or boxy in the least. A straight-forward purebred reproduction, built as close to original specs as is possible today, with the exception of a drop-in saddle slot and T frets, slot Head, Waverly 3-on-a-plate tuners. Ebony board and bridge. 1 13/16" nut with nice low c-shaped neck. 2 5/16" bridge spacing ; 25.4" long scale. With original case. In great condition with no structural or cosmetic issues beyond a few surface nicks and scrapes shown in the photos. Set-up perfectly for fingerstyle with original full saddle height. A strong and delightful vintage sounding (with none of the vintage problems) instrument from one of Americas premire luthiers. This guitar was $5,914.00 out the door to me from Eric Shoenberg's shop last year.... and Merrill's prices and wait list times keep going up.
