This is a rare opportunity to own a very rare legendary GOWER G65 vintage acoustic guitar
handcrafted in Nashville, TN circa late 50's early 60's. Full size mahogany dreadnought with sunburst top. They seldom surface, and when they do
they're often not in such good shape. I'm not sure how many of these are out
there, but it's not many. GOWER serial # 10xx.
This is a good, solid GOWER vintage guitar. J.W. GOWER was the builder that helped start Grammer guitars. It plays really well, with medium action setup with new Martin strings. Neck width at nut is 1.625" which is standard neck for Gower and Grammer guitars. Natural lacquer finish with sunburst top. Mahogany body and neck. Brazilian rosewood bridge and fretboard. The sound is excellent and is definitely in the same league with Martin
and Gibson.
This GOWER G65 guitar has spruce top with mahogany back and sides. Top has some strum wear typical of period vintage
guitars. Top has one small pro-repaired crack on lower bout treble side. Rear of body has finish checks. Rear of neck has couple small finish chips. Fretboard has some finger wear between first few frets. Original Grover Sta-tite tuners. See pictures. Guitar and case are in "as is" condition. Guitar includes non original hard shell case with wood grain vinyl covering. Will ship guitar and hard shell case inside standard guitar shipping carton.
NOTE: White spots in pictures from camera flash and room lighting/sun glare. There are no white spots on guitar. There are some white lines around finish checks from guitar polish. Guitar has original factory finish.
Thinning out the herd, other acoustics aren't
being played often enough to warrant keeping them. I'd much rather see
them in the hands of someone who appreciates and uses them than have
them sitting in cases in my closet.
