The Howard Miller 577 Pendulum Wall Clock was jointly designed by The Paul Nelson Pendulum Company and the Howard Miller Movement and Clock Company in the early 1950's. In that joint effort they created one of the most sought after wall clocks of its time and its timeless style has continued to make it a sought after time piece that is rarely available for purchasing.
The design of this clock was clear break with other traditional wall clock builders of its time and was a true fashion statement. That is however the path that Howard Miller has always chosen to take, being on the cutting edge of innovation and trends before his competition. He was never afraid to take the lead and to introduce new styles and new ideas into the marketplace, and with great success I might add has been the corner stone of the Howard Miller success story and will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future.
You will seldom ever find this wonderful creation of the 1950's available for sale, and even if you do you will find it even more difficult to find one that has been treated with loving care all of its life as this one has, leaving it in excellent to mint condition. This is the classic American made Howard Miller brass windup time movement; it carries with it that unmistakable and unmatchable tic toc of the clock as the pendulum swings in perfect cadence inside the walls of this beautiful walnut cabinet. Standing 30 inches tall from the top of the clock down to its base, you are presented with a circle of raised golden roman numerals on a brushed silver face with stylish black minute and hour hands completing a classic Howard Miller presentation. Last and certainly not least, the long golden rod with a brightly polished gold pendulum swings back and forth almost as a finishing touch to a masterful art piece. Detailed measurements are: height: 30 inches, depth: 4 inches, width/length: 17 1/2 inches, face/ 9 Inch base. The original key is included in this sale.
You will not find the opportunity to bid on nor own one of these particular Howard Miller clocks to many times in your life time, the people that have them love them and will probably not ever part with them "until death do they part" pun intended but a truth when it comes to this particular clock. Howard Miller time movements are inarguably one of, if not the finest movements in the history of clock making. They are noted for their reliability and longevity, with many of their time pieces running flawlessly since their creation in 1926 when Howard Miller struck out on his own and began making his line of Howard Miller time pieces. He insisted, from the very first clock, on Incomparable workmanship. Unsurpassed quality. A quest for perfection that everyone in his employee is still expected to this day to uphold.
Comparable Howard Miller pendulum wall clocks today sell for well over one thousand dollars, many for upwards of $1500.00. This clock is in excellent to mint condition with no dents, scratches, chips or other defects. In its appearance you would be hard set to determine if this clock were 60 years old or if it just came home from the store yesterday, with the exception that it is built much better than today’s clocks are built and will be running when many of our new clocks are gone. The solid metal gears and fine craftsmanship that went into the clocks of the 1950’s especially those built in the United States were built to last several lifetimes with proper care.
If you read in to my history you will note that I take great care in packaging items before shipping, and will make every reasonable effort to see that it arrives to you in the same condition it leaves me. It does little good to cut corners on shipping and packaging only to find a broken or destroyed piece on the other end. So I allow for the cost of proper packing and shipping charges in my listings, what you are asked to spend in shipping is used to properly ship your item to you and upon receipt you will thank me for being a bit of a stickler about this factor in our transaction.
I have bought nearly as much as I have sold here on eBay, having been on both sides of the table I try to apply the golden rule to my dealings with other eBay members, I will treat you the same way as I would hope to be treated by you if the tables were turned and I think if you read my history here you will see that has been the case. Fair is fair and I will always try my very best to be fair with you, no matter the situation. With that said I’m not able to be 100% right 100% of the time and will quickly admit when I’m wrong and in that instance will do whatever I can to make it right "within reason".
Thank you for visiting my listings, if you are bidding on this item I wish you good luck, if you liked this listing you may want to visit my other listings too, I'm constantly finding and adding new items to my eBay store, if you don't find something you like today, perhaps you might add me to your sellers list and check back from time to time, surely at some point i will have the very item you have been seeking.
