Vintage Martin Guitar

Here is a 2004 Martin HD-28V in near mint condition, serial number 981461. Completely original without any mods. The beautiful body shows basically no wear to speak of. I bought it from a man who discovered he had cancer and had always wanted to own a nice Martin guitar, and this is the one he picked...and a good pick he made. The Vintage Series HD-28 has upgrades like the through saddle, nice tight straight spruce top, vintage toner, and other Vintage appointments. Comes with the great Martin TKL case (and key) which is top of the line...and strong as it is beautiful...and heavy.

The frets show little to no wear at all and the vintage neck profile (a soft V) has no marks and feels real comfortable in my hand. A lot like the pre 1970's Martins which had full neck profiles. The Mahogany neck is one piece (doesn't have the wings glued up at the tuners-which are now used on the new HD-28V guitars). If it were hanging on the wall at your favorite music store, you'd probably think it was new. The forward shifted braces really gives it a lot of projection. I use 13's (medium gauge) strings and the volume and sustain are pure Martin. It probably still needs another year of playing (and putting it near a stereo speaker-a trick a luthier showed me that vibrates the wood) to really open her up.
