Vintage Martin Guitar

This 1966 Martin D12-20 is a killer player;  perhaps the best playing 12 string we've had in our shop.  This D12 has a lot of wear - honest play wear - and years of travel and use, and it shows.  There are repaired cracks to the top, back, and one on the side.  This is a slight crack repair on the headstock that is not any kind of structural threat - see photos.  Hard to tell, but looks like some cleats may have bee placed just inside the sound hole for support, as well as under the pickguard.  There is a good bit of wear to the guitar's top as well - pick wear - from tons and years of playing.  THE GOOD NEWS:  this D12 plays wonderfully and sounds amazing.  All the very best players come to us as beaters, and this is no exception.  Action is low and comfortable - so easy to play - and the sound is warm but bright with great ring and great projection.  A killer player.  If you are looking for a squeeky clean 60s Martin 12 to collect, this ain't it.  If you're looking for one TO PLAY AND WRITE ON - THIS IS IT.  Many more photos available - call 859-261-5500 for an in hand description.  Serial number 218xxx.<p>
