This is a 1961 00-18 Martin Acoustic Guitar in good condition w/ original blue hardshell case.
This is a charming Martin guitar made 50 years ago. I will do my best to describe the condition, but please ask any questions if you need to clarify something before bidding. I just got this back from the well renowned Martin Authorized Luthier (and guitar builder) Mike Weems of Anderson, SC. He was asked to inspect the instrument and to setup the guitar to Martin Factory Specs. This work included re-gluing a slightly curling pickguard, a partial refret (first 7), fret dress, new strings, and setup. This guitar is now well within Martin guidelines with an action of 5/32" at the 12th fret. The fretboard is now perfect up and down the neck with zero fret wear! All this guitar needs is a player.
At some point over the years, this guitar developed the typical "B" string crack and a couple of additional cracks at the bottom of the soundboard. All were professionally repaired with cleats and are stable (see photo). This was verified by Mike while the instrument was in his shop. The guitar is actually stronger now than it was the the day it left the factory. There have been numerous bumps, dings, love taps, and scars acquired over the years. There is pick wear on the soundboard above the sound hole and below the fretboard on the guitar top. There is also a single latch missing from the hardshell case. It's one of the latches in the middle, so it really has no impact on the functionality of the case.
These early 60's Martins are EXTREMELY hard to find. The 2011 Vintage Price Guide lists the price range of this model at between $2400 and $3100. I know you'll be happy with this spectacular sounding player. If money was not an object I would keep them all.... with this one being at the top of my list!
The shipping price is for UPS Ground insured for full value. I will pack this guitar with great care.
Please feel free to ask any questions before bidding! I can be reached at LuckyGuitar.com! And as always... Peace and luck! (:
(Please note: The yellow line around the bridge is polish I forgot to wipe off. Whoops! Lol )
