Vintage Martin Guitar

Up for auction is an absolutely stunning very very rare 1936 Martin C-1 archtop guitar, s/n 62435. This guitar is in stunning condition for being almost 75 years old. One of the cleanest pre war martins I have seen. It is all original , though it does have a few small issues keeping it from being close to near mint for a guitar of this age. Most obvious is that the pickguard is gone, most likely disintegrated, but the bracket is still there. There was a tight 6" crack repaired along the tailpiece about 2" over on the bass side, and the tailpiece was braised at the hinge (see pics). Other than that this guitar is stunning, with a great straight neck and nice original frets. The guitar plays excellent and sounds wonderful. This is the archtop version of a 000-18 flat top, and a lot of these have been converted, so there can't be too many of these left intact, especially in this condition. The original case (same as what any 000 sized prewar Martin would have come in, is also real nice and solid, though the handle is gone, but all the rest of the hardware is present and working. The interior is gorgeous, and the exterior is nice and will just need a wipe down. Shipping prices will vary, figure about 65.00 insured USPS Priority close to New York, and up to 95.00 to the west coast, w/ insurance.
