Vintage Martin Guitar

1934 Martin 000-18

This listing is for a 1934 Martin 000-18 acoustic guitar.  The guitar is a great players guitar, and sounds like a cannon.  As you can see from the pics it does have some wear, as would be expected from a nearly 80 year old guitar.  It was just when they made the transition over to the 14 frets to the body.  It has had a neck reset, which from what I have been told, was probably done in the 60's or 70's.  There apparently was a pickup put in the guitar at some point, and removed.  There are cracks along the side of the body that have been repaired at some point.  The repairs may not look the best, but they have held with no issues in the eight years that I have owned this guitar, and are very stable.  I am not sure when the repairs were made, but I am sure it was long before I owned it.  I have been told by Elderly Music that the repairs could be redone, and made to look better if a person was interested in doing that.  The finish on the neck is the original finish, but they were not conclusive on the body, as to what may or may not be original on the finish.  One of tuners is different from the other five.  They are all Grover tuners, but I think one of them was replaced, and the other five are original.  This is a great guitar, and a great piece of Americana.  It sounds and plays great.  The guitar comes with a non-original Martin hardshell case, which I think is from the 70's.  Do not miss out on this unique guitar.  Pleas let me know any questions you may have, and I will try my best to answer them.  THANKS!
